The GLBT National Help Center currently trains new volunteers in San Francisco. If you live near this location, and are interested in learning more about volunteering with us, please read on.
We are in need of volunteers to help staff our two toll-free national hotlines.
Volunteers on both hotlines provide telephone peer-support, local resources and factual information. We ask telephone volunteers to make a minimum commitment of 2 1/2 hours on the phones each week, for at least six months after training is completed.
We search for volunteers who are very good listeners, are very non-judgmental and who are comfortable talking with callers about difficult issues they are dealing with.
We also have a great need for volunteers to help us in other ways besides answering the phones. The GLBT National Help Center needs administrative help, assistance with fundraising, public relations, information gathering and more. You do not need a professional background in any of these areas in order to help us.
If you’d like to learn more about our many volunteer opportunities, please call our administrative office directly at 415-355-0003.
Thank you very much for your interest!
